Dietrich Splettstößer

Dietrich Splettstößer (born April 22, 1941 in Berlin ; † August 4, 2018 ) was a German business informatics specialist and IT consultant .

Life

Splettstößer studied business administration with a focus on organizational theory at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Cologne . In 1966 he passed his diploma examination there. From 1966 to 1980 he worked as a systems analyst and management consultant for various multinational companies and management consultancies. Between 1970 and 1975 he was a doctoral student with Lutz J. Heinrich and received his doctorate in 1976 at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz . From 1981 to 1985 he taught as a DAAD guest lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Nairobi ( Kenya ). Between 1985 and 1988 he led a World Bank project on behalf of the Harvard Institute for International Development to develop a food security system in Kenya. In 1989 he took on a lectureship at the School of Information Systems at Curtin University in Perth ( Western Australia ). From 1990 to 1994 he worked on behalf of the UN and the African Development Bank as Information Systems Adviser and Chief Information Officer in Kampala , Uganda . Between 1995 and 2000 he taught as a CIM guest lecturer at the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Dar es Salaam . In 2001 he became an Associate Professor at the School of Information Systems at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Australia. Between 2002 and 2004 he taught at the College of Business at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi , United Arab Emirates . From 2005 to 2006 he was director of the “IT Services Dept.” of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology. In 2006 he worked as an independent IT consultant for the World Bank.
