Dietrich Voigtländer

Dietrich Voigtländer (born October 18, 1958 in Hildesheim ) is a German bank manager . He has been a member of the Aareal Bank Supervisory Board since 2015 . He was the last CEO of WestLB AG from 2009 until the company's name was changed in 2012 . Since July 1, 2012, he has been CEO of Portigon AG, which emerged from WestLB . His resignation was announced on May 1, 2014.

Professional background

Voigtländer studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) from 1978 to 1985 and graduated with a degree in industrial engineering. From 1985 to 2000 he worked at SGZ Bank and then until 2001 at the GZ Bank that emerged from it. After the merger of GZ Bank and DG Bank to form DZ Bank , he worked there until 2008. From 1998 to 2008 he was a member of the board of directors of DZ Bank and its predecessor institutions. Dietrich Voigtländer joined what was then WestLB AG in July 2008 as deputy chairman of the board. On May 18, 2009, he temporarily took over the chairmanship of the board (through the resignation of the previous chairman, Heinz Hilgert ) and was appointed chairman of the board on September 11, 2009. From July 1, 2012 to April 30, 2014 he was CEO of Portigon AG, the legal successor of WestLB AG. He then joined the Berlin Digital Group as a partner. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board (Chairman of the Technology and Innovation Committee and member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Control Committee) of Aareal Bank since May 2015.
