Dietrich Wabner

Dietrich Wabner (born September 30, 1935 ; died February 14, 2019 ) was a German chemist . He did research in particular on aromatherapy .

Life

Wabner studied chemistry, biology and medicine in Munich and London. He received his doctorate and habilitation in chemistry from the Technical University of Munich , where he taught for many years as an adjunct professor of chemistry. With the "Applied Electrochemistry and Chemical Environmental Technology" working group that he set up, he developed processes for cleaning and treating wastewater and measuring processes for quality assurance in beer brewing .

Wabner researched the therapeutic qualities of fragrances and vegetable oils for more than 40 years and devoted himself in particular to the rose and its oils. Dietrich Wabner is internationally recognized as a leading expert in the therapeutic use of essential oils. He is the founder of the company "WADI-Etherische Öle von Prof. Wabner", whose aim is the development of complementary medical products and the sale of essential oils . Wabner was President of the Natural Oils Research Association, NORA-International and honorary member of the International Federation of Aromatherapists.
