Dimitri Peters

Dimitri Peters (born May 4, 1984 in Gljaden , Krasnoyarsk Region , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a German judoka who competes in the weight class up to 100 kg.

Dimitri Peters was born in Siberia in the Soviet Union and came to Germany in 1992. He started judo in Rotenburg at the age of 11 . Since 2002 he has been training in Hanover, where he also trained as an industrial mechanic. Dimitri Peters has been in the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group since autumn 2006 . In 2005 he won the title at the U-23 European Championships, a year later he won the bronze medal at the 2006 European Championships in Tampere . At the 2011 European Championships in Istanbul , Peters won another bronze medal with the team. Peters won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . Peters was voted Lower Saxony's Sportsman of the Year in 2012 and 2013 .
