State Sportsman of the Year (Lower Saxony)

The election for Lower Saxony's Sportsman of the Year has been held since 2004. The prize is awarded as part of the Lower Saxony Sports Ball . The election is organized by the Lower Saxony State Sports Association and the Hanover City Sports Association. The most common were biathlete Arnd Peiffer (6 times) for men, triathlete Sandra Wallenhorst , biathlete Franziska Hildebrand and Ju-Jutsu fighter Mandy Sonnemann (2 times each ) for women , and the ice hockey team of the Hannover Scorpions and the women's soccer team of VfL Wolfsburg (3 × each) awarded.

The choice of Lower Saxony disabled athlete of the year since 2001 by the Sports Federation disabled Niedersachsen performed.
