Dina Gralla , née Hedwig Dieckmann , pseudonym Dina Sventen or Dina Sönten (born January 15, 1905 in Warsaw , † November 11, 1994 in Berlin ) was a German actress .

Life

She received dance training in 1919 and performed as a ballet dancer at the revues at the Berlin Wintergarten . After taking private acting lessons from Walter Steinbeck , director Richard Eichberg used it in his 1925 film drama Passion .

After that, Dina Gralla was often seen in German silent films as a naive-erotic girl, initially several times with Lilian Harvey . Repeatedly she embodied dancers, especially in 1928 as the leading actress in the successful revue film Das Girl von der Revue . At that time she also acted on stage as an actress, for example in the theater on Behrenstrasse .

Despite her Polish accent, she was initially able to continue her career in the sound film, but when she fell ill with pulmonary tuberculosis in 1933 , she had to give up her job. Since then she has worked as a typist, after 1945 as a cleaning lady and waitress, most recently as an office clerk in a Berlin library. She appeared in front of the camera for the last time in 1954 in the revue film On each finger ten .
