The Dinglingerhaus in Frauenstrasse (new building, 2018)

The Dinglingerhaus in today 's Frauenstrasse 9 in Dresden was built around 1726 for the court goldsmith Johann Melchior Dinglinger (1664–1731). The building was destroyed in the bombardment of the city in 1945 and reconstructed in 2018.

architecture

The three-axis facade of the house has a central bay window, which is decorated in the parapet areas with reliefs with putti and an intertwined signature .

The grotto-like fountain built in the rear area of the courtyard was in the line of sight opposite the entrance. A triple, five-storey arcade was arranged in the courtyard, equipped with pilasters and Tuscan and Ionic capitals. The arcade architecture of the courtyard corresponded to miniature Italian Renaissance palaces.

history

When Peter the Great was passing through Dresden in 1711 and 1712, he settled in Dinglinger's house on Frauengasse, the predecessor of the building that has been reconstructed today.
