action

In North Africa, archaeologists discover the fossil of a 16-meter dinosaur that was related to the crocodiles. The DNA shows that a certain enzyme made it so big. The Gereco Corporation hires the scientist Dr. Campbell to clone this being. But one day one of the cloned specimens escapes and kills a Gereco employee. Gereco chairman Paula Kennedy hushed up the case and assigned Australian crocodile hunter Dick Sydney to recapture the crocodile. Meanwhile, the crocodile has grown to a size of 16 meters at breakneck speed and is hunting people in the Gereco Sanctuary at Grant Lake.

Tom Banning, however, has other concerns. After the death of his father, after years of absence, he came to his hometown to look after his little brother Michael.

Since Michael misses his dog Lucky, Tom's old love Diane Harper, the daughter of the sheriff who broke Tom's jaw when he was 15 for fiddling with Diane, becomes aware of Michael as she runs the city animal shelter. She learns from Michael that Tom is back in town. She drives to him and looks for Lucky with him. You can find it in the Gereco Sanctuary, but you cannot catch it. When they come home at night, Michael overhears them. When he hears where Lucky is, he starts looking. While searching for Lucky, Michael is killed by the crocodile. When Tom finds out about this, he and Dr. Campbell, Dick, Diane and the Sheriff go hunting for the crocodile.

The crocodile manages to free itself from the protected area and to get into a well-frequented bathing lake, where it continues its hunt for humans. Among other things, Dr. Campbell killed by him. The following night the sheriff tries to hunt the animal. However, the attempt ends in a disaster in which many of his men die. Only now is he ready to take on Diane's plan to lure the crocodile into a trap and kill it with carbon monoxide . The crocodile is actually caught and apparently killed. When the trap is opened, however, it awakens again and kills a person. Diane and Tom finally manage to guide the animal at the right moment in front of a passing freight train that rams it. Both leave satisfied. In the last scene you can see the animal walking through the picture again.

Reviews

The film received moderate to very poor ratings from most of the critics. For example, the CGI effects and the performance of the actors were sharply criticized. Mostly only trash movie fans were enthusiastic about this film.

"Naive, at most entertaining animal horror at B-picture level for friends of the genre with mediocre CGI effects and just such actors."

"Not exactly a masterpiece of film art, but a real festival for lovers of animal horror."
