Jake Thomas (born January 30, 1990 in Knoxville , Tennessee ) is an American film actor .

Life

Jake Thomas' life began in the spotlight . His parents, Bob and Simms Thomas are presenters and actors who promoted the birth of their son on the Knoxville Evening News . A camera team even accompanied the first days of his life . From the age of six, he was in front of the camera , mostly with his parents, in various commercials , including for Hallmark , Purina , Nintendo , Honda , Nestlé , Cheerios , Magnavox and Kodak . Contrary to the expectations of his parents, Thomas could not gain a foothold as a theater actor , and made his film debut in 1999 in an episode of Hinterm Mond right on the left . Since then he has been in front of the camera in many different film and television productions.

Thomas also took one of his first roles in 1999 in a television biopic about Hugh Hefner , in which he played this as a nine-year-old boy. In 2001 he got the role of Martin Swinton in Steven Spielberg's movie AI - Artificial Intelligence , who is engaged in an almost fatal feud with his adoptive brother of the same age - a robot. For this performance, Thomas was awarded the Young Artist Award for Best Supporting Actor. Between 2001 and 2004 he was in the Disney series Lizzie McGuire as the younger brother of the title character played by Hilary Duff . In the short-lived Disney series Simply Cory! In 2007 he took on a recurring supporting role as Jason Stickler . In adulthood, Thomas appears primarily as a guest actor in US television series and in smaller film productions. In 2018 he starred in the comedy film Baja with Chris Brochu .
