List of grape varieties

Diolinoir is a relatively young red wine variety . It is a new breed from 1970 by André Jaquinet from the Federale de Recherches en Production Vegetale de Changins station (the Swiss Federal Research Center for Crop Production ( Agroscope RAC Changins) in Pully ). It was developed by fertilizing Rouge de Diolly (also called Robin Noir) with pollen from Pinot Noir ; the synonym “Diolly Noir” is therefore often used. The Rouge de Diolly grape was added to the stations fédérales in 1940 from Henry Wuilloud's stocks in Diolly sur Sion .

The Diolinoir was added to the stock in order to offer the winegrowers a vine that ripens under Swiss latitudes and at the same time has a concentrated structure, with tannins and a good color intensity.

Diolinoir is very rot resistant . Medium-ripe and very fertile, this grape needs a perfect ripening process in order to bring all taste and smell components to perfection. For this reason, it is not advisable to plant it too high up in the vineyards, because the ideal must weight is over 90 degrees Oechsle . It is read later than the Pinot Noir, between the Gamay and the Merlot . The grapes are medium-sized and elongated, fairly dense with a short stem. The blue-black berries have a colorless juice and a juicy pulp. Diolinoir is mainly used in blends .
