Diribe Welteji ( Amharic ድርቤ ወልተጂ ; * May 13, 2002 ) is an Ethiopian middle-distance runner .

Athletic career

Diribe Welteji gained her first international experience at the U20 World Championships 2018 in Tampere , where she won the gold medal in a new championship record of 1: 59.74 minutes. In addition, she retired with the Ethiopian 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 39.29 minutes in advance. The following year she won in 4: 11.59 min in the 1500-meter run at the Junior African Championships in Abidjan . At the end of August she finished fourth over 800 meters at the Africa Games in Rabat in 2: 04.20 minutes.
