Dirk Loelke

Dirk Lölke (born November 14, 1962 in Stadthagen ) is a German diplomat .

Life

After studying classical philology , history and educational science, Lölke went to the preparatory service for the higher foreign service in 1992 . From 1995 to 1998 he worked in the German embassy in Belgrade ( Yugoslavia ). From 2000 to 2003 he was employed at the European Commission in Brussels . He then was permanent representative of the Federal Republic of Germany at the embassy in Asunción ( Paraguay ) until 2005 . After working as head of department in the Foreign Office (until 2006) and in the Federal Chancellery (until 2010), he became head of the cultural department at the German embassy in Rome . Back in Germany, Lölke was again head of the department. Most recently, he headed the “Peace Responsibility of Religions” working group in the Department for Culture and Communication at the Foreign Office. Lölke has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Angola since August 2018 .
