Dirk Oldenburg (born February 11, 1967 in Crivitz ) is a former German volleyball player . He is the brother of the former German national volleyball player Ute Steppin .

From 1983 to 1990 Dirk Oldenburg was a volleyball player at SC Traktor Schwerin and Schweriner SC . Here he was GDR champion in 1988 and FDGB cup winner in 1988 and 1989 and also played 75 times in the GDR national team . In 1990 he moved to Bundesliga promoted 1. SC Norderstedt and in 1991 to Hamburger SV , where he won the DVV Cup in his first season . From 1994 to 1997 Dirk Oldenburg played at ASV Dachau , with whom he became German champion in 1995 and 1996 and DVV cup winner in 1997. Then he played for two years at SV Fellbach .

Dirk Oldenburg was 197 times German national player . In 1995 he was voted volleyball player of the year .
