Dirk Riechmann (born May 12, 1967 in Bochum ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Riechmann made the breakthrough in professional football at VfL Bochum . VfL played in the Bundesliga . He made his debut in the 1987/88 season , on matchday 13 he played in Dortmund's Westfalenstadion against Borussia Dortmund . The game was a catch-up game, as the game was canceled when it was first scheduled because the pitch was unplayable. Riechmann was in the starting line-up and scored the equalizer to 1: 1 in the 89th minute. A minute later his teammate Michael Rzehaczek scored the winning goal to make it 2-1. In the next two games on the 20th and 21st match day, Riechmann came as a substitute for his second and third Bundesliga appearance. In the following season he also played three games. In the second leg against Dortmund he was able to score again, but this time the game was lost 2-1. He then moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Preußen Münster . In two seasons he played 37 games and scored two goals. In 1991 he switched to the amateur camp and played for SpVg Marl , SpVgg Erkenschwick , SV Borussia Wuppertal , TuRU Düsseldorf and TuRa Rüdinghausen, where he ended his playing career in 2008.
