Dirk Sagittarius
Dirk Schütze (born January 3, 1967 in Hildesheim ) is a former German water polo player and European champion.
As one of four brothers, Dirk learned to play water polo at Hellas 1899 Hildesheim , who won the German A youth championship with Schütze in 1983 and made it to the Bundesliga for the first time in 1986 . International appearances brought him winning the European Junior Championship in 1986 in Berlin and the gold medal with the senior national team at the European Water Polo Championship in 1989 in Bonn . He and two teammates decided not to take part in the 1992 Olympic tournament in Barcelona after internal squabbles, which meant that Hildesheim, who had meanwhile become a leading player, also meant saying goodbye to the national team. A change of club in the meantime brought him to win the German championship with Waspo Hannover- Linden in 1993 and a season as a professional player in Como ( Italy ) in 1993/94 .
