Dirk Schmidtmann (born April 21, 1955 in Bremen-Vegesack ) is a Bremen politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

education and profession

From 1971 to 1974 Schmidtmann completed an apprenticeship as a concrete worker . From 1974 to 1979 he worked as a specialist and foreman in bridge construction. This employment was interrupted in 1975 and 1976 when he had to do his military service as a driver F2. 1979 to 1980 he attended the vocational school in Düsseldorf and graduated as a concrete and reinforced concrete master. In concrete and bridge construction he worked as a master craftsman from 1980 to 1983. From 1983 to 1988 he worked as a development worker (DED) in Nepal as a bridge builder. Since 1988 he has been employed as a technical officer at the Office for Roads and Transport, Bridge and Civil Engineering Department. During his membership in the citizenry, this employment relationship as a senior building inspector was initially suspended, but now he is employed there part-time.

politics

During his training, Schmidtmann joined IG Bau in 1972 . There he was active as a youth representative, works council chairman, general works council and works council. In 1988 he joined the public services, transport and traffic union (ÖTV) (today: ver.di ). As part of this membership, he was involved as a shop steward, first deputy chairman of the staff council and in the general staff council. Schmidtmann is currently the shop steward for the severely disabled .

In 1991 Schmidtmann joined the Greens. Local Politically, he was a member of the Advisory Board of Burglesum and from 1991 to 2004 was CEO of his group on the advisory board. With interruptions he is a member of the Bremen-Nord district executive board.

From 2004 to 2015 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship. In the 18th electoral term on 2011, he replaced Horst Frehe as a member of the Bremen citizenship.

He was deputy chairman of the “Wohnliche Stadt” foundation board and a full member of the Bremen workshop works committee, the petitions committee (city), board member of the Bremer Heimstiftung and its building committee, board member of the St. Remberti Foundation and the municipal deputation for social affairs, children and youth and its building committee and municipal deputation for home affairs and sport.

As a deputy member, he sits on the committee for citizen participation, civic engagement and advisory boards (city) and on the state advisory board for sport.

Further memberships

Schmidtmann is the 1st chairman of the TSV St. Magnus eV from 1897, board member of the Gesundheitstreffpunkt West and member of the water sports club Bremer Schweiz.
