The Dürrenhorn (also Dirruhorn ) is a 4035 m high peak in the Mischabel group in the Valais Alps in Switzerland . Together with the Kleiner Dürrenhorn ( Chli Dirruhorn , 3890 m ) it forms the end point of the well-known Nadelgrat ridge , but only in its classic variant.
The first ascent took place on September 7, 1879 by Albert Mummery and William Penhall with the guides Alexander Burgener and Ferdinand Imseng over the north ridge.
