Dirty Unicorns is an Android custom ROM based on the Android Open Source project .

history

In 2012, Alex Cruz aka Mazda started the project as a one-man project and was thus one of the first Android custom ROMs . Over time, more developers were added and a large community developed. The first versions were based on AOKP (Android Open Kang Project), after which the project changed the basis to OmniROM . Dirty Unicorns has been using AOSP as a basis since Android Lollipop. On March 9, 2018, the developers released Dirty Unicorns 12 based on Android 8.1.

particularities

All developers work voluntarily, no donations are accepted. The system offers a number of self-developed functions such as Fling (gesture-based navigation function), SmartBar (expandable navigation bar) and Pulse (music equalizer, which is located in the navigation bar).
