The Nexus 6 is a smartphone or phablet from the Nexus series from Google with the Android operating system . It is the sixth device in the Nexus series and the first to be brought out in collaboration with Motorola , the design of which is based on the second-generation Moto X model . With a screen diagonal of almost 6 inches, it is one of the largest smartphones on the current market. It was announced on October 15, 2014 and has been available in the United States since October 29, 2014. It has also been available in Germany since December 2014.
It is the successor to the Nexus 5 and the predecessor of the Nexus 6P .

The Nexus 6 measures 159.3 × 83 × 10.1 mm, weighs 184 grams, has a screen diagonal of around 153 mm (6 inches) with a point density of around 493 ppi and a resolution of 1440 × 2560 pixels. It uses a quad-core processor of the type Snapdragon 805, which is clocked at 2.7 GHz, 3 GB RAM and a Adreno -420- GPU .
The Nexus 6 can be charged by induction, using the Qi standard for the wireless transmission of energy. The Nexus 6 masters near-field communication (Android Beam) , has a 13-megapixel rear camera including an optical image stabilizer and a 2-megapixel front camera. The battery has a capacity of 3220 mAh.

The Nexus 6 was the first smartphone to be delivered with Android 5.0 "Lollipop" .
On January 30, 2017, Google announced as part of the beta test for Android 7.1.2 that the Nexus 6 would not receive any further system updates beyond Android 7.1.1. Until November 2017, they want to continue to provide the device with security updates. The Nexus 6 supports the official version of LineageOS 15.1 / 16.0 and since April 2020 also 17.1 (Android 8.1 / 9/10).
