Paul Dissemond
Paul Dissemond (born July 22, 1920 in Berlin , † February 26, 2006 ibid) was a Catholic priest and general secretary of the Berlin Bishops' Conference .
Life
After studying philosophy and Catholic theology in Breslau and Fulda, Paul Dissemond received the sacrament of ordination in 1948 and was then chaplain in Oberufhausen , Bergen auf Rügen and Berlin until 1961 . From 1962 to 1968 he was an academic pastor in the diocese of Berlin and from 1966 to 1994 a member of the diocese's clerical council. From 1968 he was first secretary, from 1985 general secretary of the Berlin Bishops' Conference. 1969 co-founder of the World Catholic Bible Federation (WCFBA). Pope Paul VI awarded him on December 10, 1973 the title of Papal Honorary Prelate . From 1974 to 1987 Dissemond also worked as a representative of the Berlin Bishops' Conference for negotiations with the Ministry for State Security (MfS), from which he - according to his own information without his knowledge - was led as an unofficial employee ("Peter"). From 1973 to 1986 Dissemond was permanent deputy of the Berlin Vicar General and until his retirement in 1994 Cancellarius Curiae in the Episcopal Ordinariate Berlin.
Paul Dissemond died on February 26, 2006 in Berlin after a brief serious illness.
