action

Daniel Bauer, played by Ken Duken , is a withdrawn loner and works as a gardener in the botanical garden. His work colleagues feel provoked by his stoic closeness, but they are unaware of his apparently unmotivated outbursts of violence and dark activities. These consist in the fact that Daniel throws stones from a motorway bridge onto the roadway and thus causes a fatal accident. However, he later stole a hunting rifle and shot two people in a park. In contrast to her colleagues, Jana ( Franziska Weisz ) feels drawn to him. Despite his rejections, she falls in love with Daniel and manages to approach him. Daniel slowly begins to open up to Jana and the world.

But even she knows nothing of his dark secret. In addition, the police have already started an investigation and cordoned off the entrances to the park so that Daniel has to hide the rifle in his apartment. Jana finally discovers Daniel's secret from diary entries, but promises to cover him up. For this she even pretends to be his wife to the police and initially manages to let the inspectors run into the air. When trying to make the gun disappear in the botanical garden, however, Daniel's violence culminates. He knocks Jana down with the butt of the rifle and then shoots himself.

Reviews

The film was well received by various critics:

"And Ken Duken, this cross between Jack Bauer, Kevin Bacon and Brian Adams, is finally catching up with the first ranks of local actors."

- Zitty

“Instead, he [Thomas Sieben] focuses on the relationship between his two main characters, who are embodied by strong main actors. Franziska Weisz contrasts the coolness of Ken Duken with a good touch of middle-class middle-class reasonableness, which shows: I am the balancing force, the calm pole that is supposed to tame the supposed beast.
