history

Village

The village of Dittenbrunn belonged to the Fulda monastery . In 1339 it was pledged from there to the noble family of kitchen masters , in 1351 it was sold by the Fulda monastery to the von Thüngen family . From there a number of rights came to von Hutten's . In the Holy Roman Empire , the village first belonged to the rule , later to the County of Hanau and then to the County of Hanau-Münzenberg . It was part of the Altengronau court . The Counts of Hanau did not succeed in the process of territorializationto fully integrate the Altengronau court into their county. In 1453 the village is mentioned as part of the Altengronau court, in 1485 it is then referred to as "desolate".

court

In a contract concluded in 1526 it was stipulated that the Count of Hanau in Dittenbrunn was entitled to high jurisdiction and von Hutten to lower jurisdiction . Whether it can be concluded from this that there was a settlement here again has to be left open. In any case, a single farm, called Dittenbrunnhof, emerged as a successor to the village. In 1895 it had ten residents.

Later territorial development

After the death of the last Hanau count, Johann Reinhard III. in 1736 the Landgraves of Hessen-Kassel inherited the entire county of Hanau-Munzenberg. The area of the Dittenbrunnhof later belonged to the Electorate of Hesse and, after its administrative reform of 1821, to the district of Schlüchtern . Today the farm belongs to the community of Sinntal, and thus to the Main-Kinzig district since the Hessian regional reform .
