Dmitri Alexandrowitsch Petin ( Russian Дмитрий Александрович Петин ; born March 10, 1983 ) is a Russian summer biathlete in the cross-country style .
Dmitri Petin started for the first time at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2003 in Forni Avoltri in the competitions of the juniors at an international championship. The Russian finished ninth in the sprint, sixth in the pursuit, fourteenth in the mass start and with Pavel Tschuprijanow and Denis Fedorow third in the relay race. In 2007 Petin started in Otepää for the first time in a summer biathlon world championship for men and was twelfth in the sprint and eighteenth in the pursuit. The Russian achieved even better results with 10th place in the sprint and 7th place in the pursuit at the 2008 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Haute-Maurienne .
