Dmitri Leonidowitsch Kuselew ( Russian Дмитрий Леонидович Кузелев , born November 1, 1969 in Kemerovskaya oblast ) is a former Russian handball player who was mostly used as a runner .

The 1.96 m tall and 98 kg heavy right-handed player began his career at CSKA Moscow , with whom he became Russian champions in 1994 and 1995 . In 1998 he moved to the German handball league for GWD Minden . There he was one of the top scorers. He scored 1,010 goals in 274 Bundesliga games. Through his good performances, he was for the HBL All-Star games in 2002 , 2004 and 2007 nominated. After nine years he left Minden and went to Aarhus GF in the Danish Håndboldligaen . Two years later he joined the Polish club Wisła Płock , with which he became Polish champion in 2011 . In the 2011/12 season he ended his career in his home country with SKIF Krasnodar .

With the Russian national team , Dmitri Kuselew won the gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. For the Olympic victory he received the award of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (Заслуженный мастер спорта СССР). At the European Championship 2000, however, he was defeated in the final to the Swedes.
