Dmytro Baranovskyi

Dmytro Baranovskyj ( Ukrainian Дмитро Барановський , English transcription Dmytro Baranovskyy ; * July 28, 1979 ) is a Ukrainian long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .

In 2003 he was fifth in the Frankfurt Marathon , and in 2005 he took the same place in the Hamburg Marathon . In the same year the breakthrough came at the Fukuoka Marathon , which he won with the Ukrainian national record of 2:08:29.

In 2006 he finished third in the Vienna City Marathon and improved his record to 2:07:15 in Fukuoka as second behind Haile Gebrselassie .
