Dniprowe ( Ukrainian Дніпрове ; Russian Днепровое Dneprowoje, former German name: Jamburg ) is a village in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in Ukraine with about 200 inhabitants.

Dniprowe located in the south of dniprovskyi district at the mouth of Mokra Sura in the Zaporizhia Reservoir accumulated Dnepr . The Dnepropetrovsk airport is located 3 km to the northwest and the village Woloske (Ukrainian Волоське ) is in the south on the opposite bank of the Mokra Sura. Administratively, Dniprowe belongs to the district municipality Nowooleksandriwka .

history

The village with the then name Jamburg, which was populated by German immigrants in the early 19th century , belonged to the Swedish colony near Jekaterinoslaw.

In 1859 there was a Roman Catholic church in the German colony of Jamburg and 1,394 inhabitants (759 men and 635 women) who lived in 140 households. In 1886 there were 1,409 people in the village. It had 70 houses, in addition to the Catholic one, an Orthodox church and a school. According to the 1897 census, the number of inhabitants decreased to 1135 (618 men and 517 women), of which 1062 were Roman Catholic. By 1908 the population grew to 2,790 people (1,413 men and 1,377 women) in 457 households. Under Soviet rule, the ethnic German population was expelled and the village was renamed Dniprowe. In the 1989 census, the population was 190, but unlike most other towns in the region, the population is growing again.
