Player career

Galatasaray Istanbul

Koloğlu was born in the small town of Sürmene in Eastern Turkey in 1927 and later moved to Istanbul with his family. Here Koloğlu attended the renowned Galatasaray high school and played in the youth department of the traditional Galatasaray Istanbul club - the club that was founded by students from the Galatasaray high school. Word of his footballing talent spread quickly in the Galatasaray community, so that in 1946, at the age of seventeen, he was accepted into the squad of the Istanbul Galatasaray football team. At the time of his entry into the professional squad, there was no international professional league in Turkey. Instead, regional leagues existed in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Futbol Ligi (German: Istanbul Football League ) was considered the most renowned. In addition, from 1936 an attempt was made to establish a kind of national championship with the Türkiye Maarif Mükafatı , a national football league of Turkey designed as a tournament and held at irregular intervals. Koloğlu made his debut for Galatasaray during the game in the Istanbul Football League on September 29, 1946 against Kasımpaşa Istanbul . After the end of the season Galatasaray took part in the Türkiye Milli Eğitim Kupası (German: Cup of the Ministry of Education of Turkey ). Koloğlu was used during this tournament in five of the possible 14 matches and finished the tournament with his team in 3rd place.

After this first year, Koloğlu was also used more often in the Istanbul Football League. In the season 1948/49 Koloğlu reached with his team the championship of the Istanbul Football League and thus the first title win of his playing career. Koloğlu played only a reserve role in this championship season and only came to two league games. After this season, Koloğlu completed most of his club's competitive games by the summer of 1950. In the following four seasons he did not get out of the reserve role.

Emniyet SK and Vefa Istanbul

In the summer of 1954 Koloğlu moved within the league to Emniyet SK , after he last sat almost regularly on the bench at Galatasaray. At Emniyet, he immediately captured a regular place and was used in all games. After one season, Koloğlu moved to Vefa Istanbul - the club that was founded by the renowned Vefa high school . For this club Koloğlu played one season and then ended his career.

Coaching career

After the end of his football career, Koloğlu decided to start a coaching career. In 1963 he was in charge of the Istanbul club Feriköy SK and then for a few months the city rivals Beyoğluspor .

death

He died on November 13, 2013 in Istanbul. He was buried two days later after the midday prayer in Istanbul's Levent Mosque in the famous Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
