Dodge is a village in Dodge County in the US -amerikanischen State Nebraska .
history
Rumors that the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad would build a railway line through what is now the Dodge area drew some German, Bohemian and Polish immigrants to the area. There has been a post office here since 1872, which, when the railroad actually reached the area, was moved about 2 km to the south, to the location of the current location. Since the post office had had the name Dodge since 1880 , this was also adopted in 1886 when the town was founded. A year later the place had the first school house. On September 17, 1895, the entire business district and a quarter of the residential buildings were destroyed in a fire. The new buildings, many of which are still standing today, were made of brick in contrast to the previous wooden structures.
