Dolmen at Penker ar Bloaz
The dolmen of Penker ar Bloaz is located in the Cornouaille near Plomeur , between Penmarch and Loctudy in the Finistère department in Brittany in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The small simple dolmen ( French dolmen simple ), the ceiling plate of which rests on two thin plates, once lay under a mound of earth about 50 meters in diameter. A large vase with fern decorations was found during the excavation in 1879 .
Dolmens were once numerous around Plomeur. Only six more remain: Kerboulen, Kersidal, Kerugou , Lestriguiou , Menez-Lann-Du and Pointe de la Torche .
