Dom de Beern

Dom de Beern (born June 17, 1927 in Hamburg , † March 29, 1988 in Düsseldorf ) was a German film and theater actor.

De Beern was born in Hamburg as the son of a Dutchman. After graduating from school and taking up a degree in chemical engineering in Hamburg, he decided against a career as an academic and for acting. At the Hamburger Kammerspiele he was trained as an actor by Ida Ehre and Richard Münch , before he came to the Deutsche Theater Berlin in 1957 through theater engagements in Hamburg, Bremen and Basel .

In addition to his three years at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, de Beern worked in numerous film and television productions for the DFF and DEFA , before filming in East German productions was made impossible for him with the construction of the Berlin Wall . This was followed by a theater engagement in Bern before he became an ensemble member of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus for almost 25 years .
