Domenique Melchior

Domenique Melchior , actually Herbert-Domenique Melchior , (born December 14, 1981 in Vienna ) is an Austrian male model .

Life

After completing his training as an IT businessman , Melchior initially wanted to become a professional footballer. As a professional footballer, he played in the Austrian Bundesliga as a goalkeeper for the football club First Vienna FC 1894 .

Melchior came into the modeling industry by chance. At the age of 17 he took part in a model contest in Vienna, the Supermodel of the World contest under the patronage of Andrea Weidler, which he won; there he was discovered as a model. The application photos, which originally came from photo shoots for a private photo calendar by two Vienna teammates, had been sent in by his father.

Melchior has been working professionally as a model since 2000. The high point of his career as a model so far was the campaign for Giorgio Armani in 2008 and 2012 . He was or is the face of the campaigns, u. a. for Armani Code Ultimate . At the same time, he was the first Austrian to be booked for a campaign by Armani. He was also hired as a model for the Italian model labels Ravazzolo (suits) and Mabrun (leather and sportswear), each for the autumn / winter 2011/2012 campaigns.

He worked with photographers such as Bruce Weber and Frank Wartenberg. As a cover model he was featured in numerous well-known magazines. In 2011 he was the Covel model of the international edition of the Cosmopolitan calendar; In 2012 he was photographed in the large-format black and white men's calendar of the German edition of the Cosmopolitan calendar.

His mother agency is Wienermodels , where he started his career. Melchior is under contract with the model agencies Elite Model Management in London and with D Management Group in Milan .

Melchior currently lives (as of October 2012) in New York City .
