Dominik Schröder

Dominik Schröder SVD (born September 4, 1910 in Eiweiler ; † December 25, 1974 there ) was a German ethnologist and Mongolist . He worked at the Anthropos Institute in Friborg, Switzerland , in Üechtland . Among other things, he researched the population of Kham , with the oral folk poetry of the Monguor being a focus of his work. He translated the chapter on folklore from the Xikang tujing by Ren Naiqiang任乃强 into German.

The posthumous publication of central parts of Schröder's estate was carried out by Walther Heissig , Bonn professor for Central Asian Studies, and the Steyler ethnologist Anton Quack SVD.
