Dominikus Fleischmann
Dominikus Fleischmann (born October 3, 1714 in Berching as Josef Franz Ernst Fleischmann; † January 27, 1792 ) was a Benedictine monk and 48th abbot of the Plankstetten monastery .
Life
Fleischmann was born the son of a coppersmith. He attended the Jesuit grammar school in Neuburg an der Donau (1729 syntax minor, 1730 syntax major, 1731 study of poetics, 1732 study of rhetoric). In 1733 he began studying logic in Ingolstadt. He made his profession in 1737. This was followed by theology studies in Rott am Inn and in Regensburg . He had his primacy on August 7, 1740 and then worked as a cooperator in Plankstetten, lecturer of theology and prior . On May 23, 1757 he was elected to succeed Abbot Maurus Xaverius Herbst .
