Donald W. Cockcroft

Donald William Cockcroft (born May 27, 1946 ) is a practicing doctor in Canada in the field of pulmonology . He is a professor in the Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Department at Saskatchewan University . Common misspelling : Cockroft .

Career

Cockcroft studied 1,967 chemistry at the University of British Columbia and ended the study with the Bachelor of Science from. In 1970 he received his doctorate in internal medicine . Since 1977 he has been researching at the University of Saskatchewan with a focus on bronchial provocation with methacholine and other non-allergic stimuli.

In the 1972/1973 training year , Donald William Cockcroft worked as an assistant doctor together with Matthew Henry Gault at the Nephrology Department of the Queen Mary Veterans' Hospital in Montreal, the Cockcroft-Gault formula for estimating creatinine clearance from age, weight, gender and the serum creatinine level .

He is a member of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology , the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and the American College of Chest Physicians .

Cockcroft is the past president of the Canadian Thoracic Society and a past director of the division he now works for.
