The Donghai Daqiao ( Chinese 東海 大橋 / 东海 大桥 , Pinyin Dōnghǎi Dàqiáo ) is a bridge across the sea in China. Construction began in June 2002. The completion was on December 10, 2005.
The 32.5 kilometer long and 31.5 meter wide road bridge connects Luchao Port (Luchaogang) in Lingang New City in the Pudong district of Shanghai with the Yangshan deepwater port in Shengsi County in Zhejiang Province ( Hangzhou Bay ). It runs 40 meters above the sea surface. Ships with a total carrying capacity of 10,000 tons can pass at their largest passable point.
The bridge has six lanes and is connected to the outer ring road of Shanghai by an expressway. A speed limit of 80 km / h applies on the bridge.
It is named after the Donghai Bridge offshore wind farm in the immediate vicinity .
