The Donkey Pilots are a rock band founded in Hameln . The group is assigned to the styles of rock , alternative rock , blues , psychedelic rock and Americana . They call their mix of styles "Blow Rock".

history

The Donkey Pilots were founded in early 2009 by Hector Pascal ( guitar , vocals ), Tyler Bourbon ( lead guitar ) and changing musicians from the local scene, including Alex Blaschke, who switched to the dark rockers Unzucht after recording the first album .

The Hagen-based producer and owner of Woodhouse Studios Siggi Bemm jr. became aware of the band and produced their first album Garbage Man in 2012 , which was released worldwide on January 25, 2013 on their own label Dog Shit Ave Records (via Dr. Music Records). The title Pissed was previously released as a single with an accompanying music video. A little later, Silent Seducer followed with a lavishly illustrated and animated video.

Afterwards they opened several concerts for Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub as well as Ohrfeindt and went on a solo club tour all over Germany in 2013/2014. Her debut album was received extremely positively by the press and critics, as the Bielefeld native wrote of a “remarkable premiere”. Due to their complexity, it is difficult to clearly assign the musical style of the band. Often their music is described as quite unconventional and attested to a certain degree of independence.

After their Garbage Man Tour, the line-up changed again when not only bassist Buzz T announced his departure in 2014, but drummer Mr. Reece also left the band in 2015. They were replaced by Floyd Apple (bass) and Yann Johann Gunderson (drums).

In 2016 they played together with New Model Army in Hanover.

On September 22, 2017, their second album Serious Men was released via Dog Shit Ave Records / Timezone Records on which Don Airey played the Hammond organ as a guest musician on selected pieces . The album was produced by Tobias "b.deutung" Unterberg and recorded in the Echolane studio in Bergen-Hohne. On the same day, the band released a new music video for the track No right .
