NBA career

Harvey was able to fulfill his dream, he made it into the Dallas Mavericks team . However, his rookie season was a disaster: He barely got any playing time and only scored 1.2 points. A good start looks different! In the 2001/02 season he was initially still unsuccessful in Dallas before trading to the Denver Nuggets in the second half of the season . The change turned out to be a stroke of luck for him, Harvey delivered appealing performances with 8 points and 6.2 rebounds . In the entire 2001/02 season he reached 5.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. In the following season he got a decent 7.9 points and 5.3 rebounds. In the offseason Harvey moved to the Orlando Magic . Over the entire season he came to 4 points and 2.7 rebounds. For the 2004/05 season he moved to the east coast to the New Jersey Nets . With the Nets, Harvey received almost no playing time (a full 5.3 minutes per game). In his rare game opportunities, he still marked 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds. Nevertheless, he has not received a contract in the NBA since then .

Time in Europe

Donnell Harvey continued his career in Europe for lack of alternatives, including at the Turkish club Banvit BK. In the summer of 2008, Harvey surprisingly dared the jump back to North America, he was in the squad of the Charlotte Bobcats for the NBA Summer League . The jump into the final squad of the Bobcats was denied him.
