The 22nd Dora Festival took place on February 29, 2020 and was the Croatian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam ( Netherlands ). Damir Kedžo won with his song Divlji vjetre .

On October 31, 2019, the public broadcasting company Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT) confirmed the continuation of the Dora Festival 2020. Again, a total of 16 participants, each with one title, will compete against each other. The winner should be decided 50% by jury voting and 50% by televoting.
As in the previous year, 50 percent of the winner will be determined by a jury and the audience. However, the number of points to be awarded changes. Instead of twelve points, the jury and the audience will each give 16 points so that each performer receives at least one point. The jury voting consists of five three-person individual juries located in Split , Rijeka , Osijek and Čakovec / Varaždin . All juries together can award 136 points. The best rated interpreter receives 16 points, the poorest rated one point. If there is a tie within a single jury, the jury members will be asked to choose their favorite. If, when combining all 136 jury points, two or three songs received the same number of points, the interpreter who received 16 points more often from all juries will be rated higher. In the event that none of the performer received 16 points, the number of lower points - 15, 14, 13, etc. - will be taken into account. The jury will vote during the dress rehearsal on February 28, 2020.
The viewers can vote via tele and SMS voting. The viewers will also award 16 points for the best and one point for the worst contribution. In the event of a tie between two or more songs, the song with the most calls will be rated higher. If the combination of the jury and the audience voting results in a tie between the best rated performers, the interpreter with the most points from the audience voting will be the winner of the preliminary decision.
Choice of contribution
From November 5 to December 15, 2019, composers had the opportunity to submit a contribution to HRT. A jury selected 16 participants from the submitted entries. How many contributions HRT received was not disclosed.
Attendees
On December 23, 2019, HRT will present the 16 participants of the Dora Festival 2020. Among them was the singer Goran Karan , who already represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 and was thus the former winner of the Dora 2000. Shortly after the publication of the list of participants, it withdrew from participation for unknown reasons. For him, the singer Elis Lovrić moved into the field.

The 2020 Dora Festival finale took place on February 29, 2020. In the jury voting, the singer Mia Negovetić first prevailed. Followed by Damir Kedžo , who prevailed in the final audience vote with a lead of 260 votes over Mia Negovetić. Since the audience voting was rated higher in the event of a tie, he won the preliminary round with his song Divlji vjetre .
