Doral

The Doral is a vine - new variety from 1965. Jean-Louis Simon she raised in 1965 at the station Federale de Recherches en Production Vegetale de Changins (the Swiss Federal Institute of Agronomy, Agroscope RAC Changins) in Pully from Chasselas and Chardonnay . The subsequent selection was done by André Jaquinet.

The vine is mainly grown in the Swiss cantons of Vaud and Valais . The slow-growing variety achieves good sugar values ​​(→ must weight ). The yellow-green to golden wine has an aromatic bouquet .

The Charmont grape variety emerged from the same cross . Currently, about 23 hectares of vineyards are planted with Doral in Switzerland (as of 2007, source: Office fédéral de l'agriculture OFAG).
