The Protestant village church Bredenfelde is a stone church from the Gothic period in the Bredenfelde district of Woldegk in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the parish of Bredenfelde in the Stargard region in the Neustrelitz provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church) .

History and architecture

The village church Bredenfelde is a flat-roofed stone church with a barrel-vaulted sacristy in the north and a retracted west tower from the last quarter of the 13th century. Regardless of the dating, it largely dispenses with Gothic style elements and shows ancient arched panels on the east gable, a group of arched three-windowed windows in the east wall and an alternation between narrow arched windows and panels on the side walls. Only the stepped portals in the west and south are pointed arches. The upper floor of the tower from 1864 is made of brick and equipped with neo-Gothic decor and a roof turret. The south porch was built at the same time as the tower end.

Furnishing

The main piece of equipment is a late Gothic carved altar from 1480, which was inserted into a neo-Gothic structure. A crucifixion group and four other saints are depicted in the shrine; the apostles can be found in the wings. A communion relief is arranged in the predella . The neo-Gothic frame shows a keel-arched end with tracery and a crowning figure of Christ as well as a central six-pass medallion with a relief depiction of the mercy seat and two flanking saints from the 19th century.

The pulpit with the sound cover and trumpet angels is a work of the 18th century; The figure of a seated Madonna was probably reused as a support from the 14th century. The west gallery also dates from the 18th century.

The liturgical vessels consist of a silver chalice from 1759 and another chalice with two paten from the 18th century. Two candlesticks, also made of tin, were made in the early 19th century. The bell dates from the Middle Ages.

The organ is a work by the Sauer company from 1967 with six registers on a manual and pedal . It was installed in Bredenfelde in 2008 after an organ from the Borwinheim Neustrelitz in Bredenfelde had been used in exchange since 1967 .
