The village church Kakerbeck is the Protestant church of the village Kakerbeck in the Altmark in Saxony-Anhalt . The parish belongs to the parish Kalbe-Kakerbeck in the parish of Salzwedel of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

architecture

The church has its origins at the beginning of the 13th century, according to other sources as early as the end of the 12th century. Of this late Romanesque building, however, only the west transverse tower to the west of the nave has been preserved. The tower has sound holes in arch shape and is of a gabled roof completed. The west wall and the corner walls were repaired in the 19th century.

The current nave was not built until 1867, but its style is based on the Romanesque. The nave is cruciform and is closed in the east by a semicircular, recessed apse . In the south wall remains of the original nave, including a walled up round arch portal, are preserved.

Inside the church there is a flat wooden beam ceiling, which is decorated with stencil paintings. Galleries are set up in the west and in the arms of the cross.

inventory

From the inventory, three grave slabs from the years 1712, 1802 and 1809 are worth mentioning. The organ was created in 1885 by master organ builder August Troch from Neuhaldensleben . A neo-Gothic font in the shape of a chalice with the donor's coat of arms dates from 1908 and, according to the inscription, was made by Liselotte Rolopp, b. Schulz donated. The three colored glass windows in the apse were made in 1927 . These figurative works of art were created by Pütz from Solln .

people

From 1973 to 1978 Eduard Berger , who later became bishop of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church , was pastor in the village church of Kakerbeck.
