The church

The Protestant village church Oberröppisch is located in the Oberröppisch district of the independent city of Gera in Thuringia . It belongs to the Gera-Lusan parish in the Gera parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The square situated at the upper end of the village church with its Romanesque choir probably dates from the 13th century.

In the 17th century renovations took place, and in the 18th century the church received its present appearance.

The choir is made of half-timbered facades with rubble stones and has a curved dome with a lantern .

The house is equipped with multiple altered two-sided galleries . The richly decorated Renaissance pulpit with a sound cover , on which a cross carries a globe , is located on the south side of the triumphal arch .

The rococo doors date from the end of the 18th century.

In 1993 the building and in 1998 the church tower were completely renovated.
