The village church Pfaffendorf ( Filialkapelle Mariä Namen Pfaffendorf ) in Pfaffendorf , district Haßberge , parish community St. Kilian and companions Pfarrweisach , deanship Haßberge , was built in the years 1919 to 1920 according to the plans of the government architect Fritz Fuchsenberger and on the feast of the holy name of the Blessed Virgin (September 12, 1920) consecrated by Johannes Gräf, the dean of the episcopal dean's office in Ebern.

The church was built from local sandstone in the neo-Romanesque style. The roof is held on the north side by two columns, so that a superstructure of the entrance results.

Above the entrance door there is a relief of the Blessed Mother in hinted clouds with the text "God protect the homeland, Maria!"

Inside 1998 was people's altar built and by Bishop Paul-Werner Scheele on 26 September consecrated . The organ was consecrated by Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Bauer in June 2002. Behind the people's altar is the old high altar with the tabernacle , on the doors there are the symbols of the four evangelists, grapes and ears of wheat.

The altarpiece (by Martin Hertz) shows the Mother of God with the baby Jesus and the founders of the church Georg and Margarete Kestler with a nephew and a niece, surrounded by a wreath of angel heads and flowers. Rabbits and chickens are depicted at their feet. The assistant figures on both sides of the altar from the old castle chapel are Johannes Nepomuk and Aquilinus .
