Dorit Stenke

Dorit Stenke (born September 11, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German ministerial official and since June 28, 2017 State Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Schleswig-Holstein .

Career

Dorit Stenke graduated from high school in Bergisch Gladbach in 1980 . She then studied educational science, sociology and psychology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz until 1986 . There she was also co-founder and head of the interdisciplinary working group for women's studies .

After completing her studies, Stenke stayed on as a research assistant at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. In 1993 she moved to the Technical University of Dresden , where she carried out the BLK model test “The Middle School in the Free State of Saxony”. In 1997 she finished her work at the TU Dresden in favor of the Saxon State Ministry for Culture as a consultant. She stayed there until 2001, when she became deputy chairwoman of the German Society for Education Administration.

From 2001 to 2003 she was deputy director of the Saxon Academy for Teacher Training in Meißen, and from 2003 to 2006 she returned to Dresden as managing director of the Saxon Evaluation Agency. There she developed procedures for the external evaluation of schools in the Free State of Saxony. From 2007 to 2016 she was head of department at the Saxon Educational Institute in Radebeul .

In April 2016, Dorit Stenke was replaced as director of the Saxon Education Institute by Angela Bachmann and came to the Ministry for Schools and Vocational Training of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, which was headed by Education Minister Britta Ernst (SPD) at the time , as department head for vocational training, quality and IT was to return to northern Germany. On June 28, 2017, Minister of Education Karin Prien (CDU) appointed her to the cabinet of Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) as State Secretary for Education , where she is still active today.

Dorit Stenke does not belong to any political party.

According to their own information, their civil rights and social action, disaster relief and culture are particularly important. It considers an external evaluation organization to be effective to ensure quality in schools, even if they only work in an advisory capacity.
