Die Dornrosen are a pop cabaret band from Austria consisting of the three sisters Katharina, Christine and Veronika Schicho. They have been performing as The Schick Sisters since 2019 .

History and work

The “Geschwisterband mit Schmäh” was founded by the three sisters Katharina (* 1979), Christine (* 1980) and Veronika (* 1984) Schicho in 2001. Their first joint program was called Frauen sind von der Venus . This and the following programs brought them numerous appearances in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. In 2001 and 2010 they were with the Austrian UN troops in Cyprus, Kosovo and on the Golan Heights. In the winter season 2010/2011 the single Rehgehegesong became famous in Austria. From 2011 to 2015 they worked together with the music label Universal Music in Austria. In 2013 they could be seen with their program Volle Kanne as part of the Hyundai Cabaret Days on ORF, and other appearances at Ladies Night (WDR) and on Servus TV . They produced their video Schatzi, Schatzi with Ottfried Fischer as a guest. From 2014 they are the permanent band on Ottfried Fischer's talk show Ottis Aquarium in the Heimatkanal on Sky.

The musical sisters write, compose and arrange their music and texts themselves. For their stage shows they work with various actors, such as B. Bernhard Murg and Hannes Ringlstetter . The sibling band can be assigned to the pop cabaret, the content of their personality shows are self-deprecating with a tendency to be bizarre .

The father of the three sisters is the composer Friedrich Schicho, the "musical father" of Anton von Tirol .
