Edith Dorothy Holman (born July 18, 1883 in London , England , † April 8, 1968 there ) was a British tennis player .
Career
In 1920 she won the silver medal in women's doubles at the Olympic Games alongside Winifred Beamish . She had previously won the silver medal in the individual. She also took part in the mixed competition, but dropped out together with Gordon Lowe in the first round.
At the Wimbledon Championships she achieved her best result in singles in 1913 when she reached the semi-finals, in which she was defeated by Winifred McNair in three sets. In the doubles competition in 1922 she was able to advance to the semi-finals alongside Helen Leisk at Wimbledon. In addition, she reached the final of the hard court world championships in Paris in 1919 , but had to admit defeat to Germaine Golding .
