Dougal Allan (born April 24, 1985 in Foxton (New Zealand) ) is a New Zealand triathlete . As the winner of the 2016 Challenge Wanaka , he was New Zealand champion in the long-distance triathlon.

Career

Dougal Allan studied sports science at the University of Otago .

Allan is considered a strong cyclist in triathlon, currently (as of 2017) he holds the course records for the bike split at the Challenge Wanaka , Ironman New Zealand and Ironman Australia .

In March 2020, the 34-year-old finished fifth in Ironman New Zealand with a personal best on the Ironman distance.

He and his wife have two children and, after a few years in Wanaka, have been living in Oamaru on the South Island of New Zealand since 2016 .
