Douglas Hedin (born February 5, 1990 ) is a former Swedish ski racer . He took part in the European Cup for the first time in 2010 and has competed in the World Cup since 2012 .

Career

Hedin comes from Frösön and took part in FIS races from 2006 , initially mainly in his home country Sweden, but initially had no major successes. In February 2007 he started in Jaca, Spain, at the European Youth Olympic Festival , where he finished eighth in the giant slalom. After Hedin had not participated in any races in the entire 2008/2009 season, he achieved his first victories in FIS races in winter 2009/2010. He was used at the 2010 Junior World Championships in France , where his best result was 15th in the giant slalom. The following winter he won the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum . In winter 2010/2011 Hedin also competed in his first races in the European Cup . The first point wins in this racing series came in February 2012 with two top 10 placements in the downhill and super combination of Sarntal / Reinswald . He then made his World Cup debut on March 3, 2012 in the downhill from Kvitfjell , where he finished 57th.

On December 1, 2012, Hedin won his first World Cup points in his fourth World Cup race, the Super-G of Beaver Creek , when he finished 22nd with starting number 63. He achieved his first podium in the European Cup on January 12, 2013 with third place in the downhill from Wengen .

Hedin ended his career in spring 2015.
