Dov Glickman or Doval'e Glickman ( Hebrew דב גליקמן; December 2, 1949 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli film and stage actor .

Act

He began his acting career in the Naval Entertainment Troop of the Israel Army . He later performed with the Haifa Theater Company . In 1977 he made his film debut in Judd Ne'eman's Paratroopers . For twenty years, from 1978 to 1998, Glickman was part of Israel's longest-running television show, the satirical show Zehu Ze! . In 2010 he played a supporting role alongside Heiner Lauterbach in the ZDF crime thriller Möderischer Visit . For his acting achievements in the movie Big Bad Wolves he won the award for best actor at the Fantasporto film festival in 2013 .

Since 2013 he plays in the Israeli drama series Shtisel the charismatic Rabbi Shulem Shtisel. For this role, he received two Israel Television Awards. He starred alongside Richard Gere in Joseph Cedars Norman in 2016 . In 2018 he played a survivor of the Shoah in the award-winning Austrian production Murer - Anatomie einer Prozess . He has also had a role in the Israeli series Stockholm since 2018 .

In 2016 Glickman starred in the play Angina Pectoris at the Tzavta Theater in Tel Aviv. In 2018 and 2019 he played Etgar in Burkhard C. Kosminski's production Vögel at the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart , which is remarkable in that he only speaks broken German.

Private

Glickman was born in 1949 to a secular Jewish family in Tel Aviv. His parents are originally from Russia and emigrated to Israel in the 1920s.
