Dowrat ( Hebrew דָּבְרַת Dovrat , English Dovrat ) is a kibbutz in the Jezreel plain in northern Israel , which is near Afula . In 2018, the town, founded on October 30, 1946, had 439 inhabitants.
history
The new kibbutz was named after the neighboring biblical place Daberat. Daberat was at the foot of Mount Tabor and controlled access to the Jezreel plain . Flavius Josephus , who called the place Dabaritta or Darabitta, described a military garrison stationed there.
